Frequently Asked Questions

  • The earlier the better. During peak wedding season (October- April) we start taking wedding cake orders up to a 18 months in advance. To avoid any disappointment, book in early for your chosen date. For celebration cakes, ordering 4 weeks in advance is recommended. If you have a short time frame, please contact us and we may be able to accommodate you.

  • If your cake is going to be used as dessert, a 2 inch by 2 inch slice size is needed. If not, a coffee portion of 1 inch by 1 inch is perfect. As a general rule, when needing coffee portions you don’t need to cater for all your guests. I recommend getting a cake big enough for 80% of your guests as not everyone eats cake.

  • All of our cakes are individually designed and made to order. Pricing varies depending upon the style and design you choose. Labour can be from 6 hours through to 30+ hours for the more elaborate and labour intensive couture cakes. Contact us for further pricing.

  • A Cake Date is available for wedding cake orders. At this appointment we can discuss style and designs that you like. Please bring any colour samples with you or other design ideas like invites, fabric swatches and floral inspiration as this can help us to come up with a gorgeous design that will complement you wedding day perfectly.

  • A 30% deposit (non-refundable) is required to confirm your booking. The balance for your order is due two weeks before the occasion.

  • Yes we do. As part of the Wedding Cake Package, delivery and set up is included for all wedding cakes. A delivery fee applies for all other cakes. Please contact us to discuss and arrange your delivery.

  • Cake stands are available for hire. We don’t charge a hire fee but ask for a refundable security bond at a cost $50-$80 depending on style per stand. Cake stands are due to be returned within three working days of your wedding date upon which the security deposit is repaid in the absence of any damage.

  • Cake Date is located 156 Wellington Rd. Morley, Western Australia, delivering all over the Perth metro area. Please contact us to make an appointment for a Cake Date. We are available weekdays, weekends and after hours.

  • Yes. You can have a different flavour for each tier at no additional cost.

  • Yes, you can make changes up to 21 days before your event.

  • Yes, there is a limited gluten free menu. Please be aware that my cakes contain wheat, milk, egg and other allergens. Please contact me to discuss any dietary requirements.

  • Yes you can. However, fresh flowers are not a food product and may contain pesticides, insects, dirt and other contaminants. Just about any flower species can be made into a sugar flower and, if stored correctly, they can last forever.

  • Store all sugar flowers and decorations covered in a cardboard box.
